Sofwave FAQs

  • Sofwave does cause temporary discomfort during treatment, which can be made very tolerable with a combination of pretreatment with numbing creams and the use of Pronox (nitrous oxide) as an anesthetic during the procedure. You can drive and resume all normal activities within 15 minutes of stopping Pronox.

  • Usually just one, though if skin laxity is more severe, a second treatment may be done in 3 months.

  • The treatment effects typically last 1-2 years, because skin continues to age. It can be repeated without risk or complication.

  • Sofwave cost is based on the number of “pulses” used to treat an area - the larger the area, the greater the cost. The smallest treatment area is typically the forehead and is $500. The largest treatment area (full face and neck) is $2500.

  • Unlike laser and chemical based skin treatments that affect the epidermis, Sofwave does not penetrate the top layer of skin, so there is no risk of depigmentation and very little risk of wound breakdown or poor healing.

  • Sofwave will not leave any marks or redness on your skin. When you leave after a treatment, you may resume all normal activities including returning to work or social gatherings without worry.
